This is for a 186 Diesel Engine Air Filter This is for an oval diesel engine air filter. Most small diesel engines use either a round or oval filter. This oval filter is most commonly found in small diesel engines that fall in the 178 and 186 engine family. The filter has 1 hole for mounting in the center of the filter. It will come with the foam prefilter as shown.
Air filters can be cleaned and do not always have to be changed. However, eventually no matter how much you clean the filter it will lose air flow. If your engine isn’t running correctly checking or replacing the air filter is one of the steps you will want to take
There can be some variations in the air filters in small diesel engine. The most common small diesel engine are in the 170, 178, and 186 engine families. For some equipment the filters can be slightly bigger or smaller. Often these filters fit the filter housing perfectly so diameter is important as well. Check your filter against the measurements below
