Description
This is a Wildfire WF3800 AVR Voltage Regulator
This is a generator voltage regulator. This part is a universal type part that is used in brush type generator heads. This voltage regulator has a 4 blade plug and 2 single wires. If your generator isn’t producing power the most common issue is the voltage regulator. You can test your regulator with an electrical tester. If you do not have a tester you can physically look for cracks or busted components.
Your voltage regulator can be seen in the end of the generator head. Though at times it can be mounted external to the generator head. To replace the voltage regulator locate the old one and replace it with the new one. The 4 blade plug and 2 single wires are the only connections. The 2 single wires attach to the carbon brush. The positive wire is labeled on the voltage regulator.
Your voltage regulator may need to be adjusted after installation. Often no adjustment is needed. If you don’t have the correct power output use the adjustment screw on the back of the regulator to turn the voltage up or down.
